These traditional villages were fascinating. However, getting there on our own was not easy so we booked Klook small group day trip tours to these villages that also included the geopark. It was refreshing to explore these scenic traditional areas besides the city. There were a variety of shops offering traditional food and snacks as well as souvenirs. The housing in which the locals live and the views from the hilltop etc not only fulfill our curiosity but also enlivened us. Our favourites were definitely sipping bubble tea in the Jiufen hilltop traditional market and the wishing lantern experience in Shifen!
